10 Most Common FAQs about MAT Exam

MAT Exam is one of the national level entrance exams for admission to MBA programs offered by various reputed management institutions. The MBA examination is held four times a year. This makes sense when candidates have questions about the exam process, dates, exam mode, test centres, and other related topics.

The MAT Exam is a popular entrance exam whose results are accepted by over 300 institutes in India. Candidates who wish to apply for the exam must be aware of MAT Syllabus, MAT Exam Pattern, MAT Eligibility, and several other features of the exam. However, if candidates are still confused and skeptical about important MAT exam information, they will be unable to register for it enthusiastically. To clear up any confusion, we have compiled a list of ten frequently asked questions (FAQs) submitted by MAT exam candidates.

Here are some of the most frequently asked MAT exam questions. Take a look at them and prepare to take the exam without a doubt:

  • Mode of Test

In terms of mode, there are two options: online testing or paper-based testing.

Computer Based Test (CBT): A computer-based test requires each candidate to sit in front of a computer and answer questions using a mouse or keyboard. The candidate should have a basic understanding of how to use these devices. AIMA does not assume responsibility for acquainting candidates with the same.

Paper Based Test (PBT): In the paper-based mode, candidates are given a set of question papers and an OMR sheet, which they must fill out according to the instructions. Candidates are required to bring their own HB pencils, sharpener, eraser, and pen. In both modes, there are multiple choice questions; the pattern and instructions remain the same; only the mode changes.

Internet Based Test (IBT): In this newly introduced mode, AIMA has made it possible for candidates to take the MBA entrance exam from the comfort of their own homes, in light of the COVID19 pandemic situation. It is a remote proctored test in which the invigilator will monitor the candidates remotely via the webcam installed on the device from which they will take the exam.

  • National Level Exam

The Management Aptitude Test, also known as the MAT, is a national level management entrance exam. The Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, has approved the entrance exam as an entry card to over 600 B-Schools for PGDM courses. The MAT exam score card is accepted as an admission criterion by a wide range of B-Schools across the country. The All India Management Association, or AIMA, administers the exam for admission to the organization’s courses.

  • Nature of Exam

The MAT exam is a multiple-choice exam with objective questions. The exam consists of five sections: language comprehension, data analysis and sufficiency, mathematical skills, the Indian and global environment, intelligence and critical reasoning. The paper contains a total of 200 questions, with each section containing 40 questions. The exam has a total time limit of 150 minutes.

  • Conducting and MAT Exam Eligibility 2022

The test is held four times a year, in February, May, September, and December. While talking about Eligibility for MAT Exam, candidates must have a graduation degree in any discipline from a recognised university or an equivalent recognised degree. A final-year undergraduate student (B.A., B.Sc., B.Com., B.Tech., etc.) may also appear provisionally. Typically, there is a minimum percentage requirement for graduation, which varies by university. Candidates can find more information on the university’s website.

  • How to Apply?

Candidates interested in taking the MAT entrance exam must first register on the exam’s official website. The website contains detailed instructions that candidates must follow when filling out the application form. Candidates must also submit the exam application fee to complete the application submission process. They can make the payment online with a debit/credit card or through Net banking.

  • MAT Admit Card

The MAT entrance exam admit card can be downloaded from the AIMA website approximately 7 days before the exam. Admit Cards will be generated separately for candidates who have chosen to take the Paper Based Test or the Computer Based Test. Candidates should check their admit cards for information such as their name, form number, roll number, test date, test time, and venue. They must immediately contact the exam authorities if there is any discrepancy in these details.

  • MAT Accepting Colleges

The number of institutes taking the MAT entrance exam is not fixed and varies from year to year. The admission criteria for MBA programmes differ from one institute to the next. All MBA institutes taking the MAT entrance exam are either AICTE or DEC approved, or they are a University affiliated College or a University Department. For more information, candidates should contact the universities/institutions directly. They can also find a list of various MBA institutes/universities, as well as admission notifications, on the AIMA website (particular administration).

  • MAT Result

The scorecard and results arrive quickly. The MAT Entrance Exam Score Card is published on the AIMA website during the last week of the month of the test. Candidates can obtain their score card by visiting the AIMA website (http://apps.aima.in/mat input result.aspx). The MAT Score Card includes the candidate’s composite score and percentile. A score of 650 or higher on an 800 scale is considered good. However, what constitutes a good score varies from institute to institute. The cut off for a particular college may also vary from month to month, depending on the level of the exam and the institute of choice.

  • Validity of Scorecard

The MAT score is valid for that particular session for all institutes and universities participating in the MAT entrance test that year.

  • Duplicate Scorecard

If you misplace or lose your MAT score card, you can obtain a duplicate score card using your admit card and an application number for a small fee.

Here, we have tried to mention the most commonly asked questions related to the MAT Exam. Students willing to take the exam must refer to these above mentioned points in this article. To know more about the exam, students can visit CollegeSearch and read more about it. It is one of the largest educational platforms that helps students, colleges, and alumni connect.
