- Mode of Test

Paper Based Test (PBT): In the paper-based mode, candidates are given a set of question papers and an OMR sheet, which they must fill out according to the instructions. In both modes, there are multiple choice questions; the pattern and instructions remain the same; only the mode changes.
Internet Based Test (IBT): In this newly introduced mode, AIMA has made it possible for candidates to take the MBA entrance exam from the comfort of their own homes, in light of the COVID19 pandemic situation. It is a remote proctored test in which the invigilator will monitor the candidates remotely via the webcam installed on the device from which they will take the exam.
- National Level Exam
The Management Aptitude Test, also known as the MAT, is a national level management entrance exam. The Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, has approved the entrance exam as an entry card to over 600 B-Schools for PGDM courses. The MAT exam score card is accepted as an admission criterion by a wide range of B-Schools across the country. The All India Management Association, or AIMA, administers the exam for admission to the organization’s courses.
- Nature of Exam
The MAT exam is a multiple-choice exam with objective questions. The exam consists of five sections: language comprehension, data analysis and sufficiency, mathematical skills, the Indian and global environment, intelligence and critical reasoning. The paper contains a total of 200 questions, with each section containing 40 questions. The exam has a total time limit of 150 minutes.

The test is held four times a year, in February, May, September, and December. While talking about Eligibility for MAT Exam, candidates must have a graduation degree in any discipline from a recognised university or an equivalent recognised degree. The number of institutes taking the MAT entrance exam is not fixed and varies from year to year. The admission criteria for MBA programmes differ from one institute to the next.
